What To Expect From Hang En Adventure Cave Camp Tour?

World’s Most Unique Campsite

The camping area is in the middle of the En cave, where there is a cave entrance high above. Below is a wide sandy beach with an emerald lake, like a miniature beach. Plus, there is a part of the Rao Thuong river that flows through it.

Hang En campsite receives light from the cave entrance every day. In particular, from December to the end of February every year, when the rays of sunlight shine deep inside the cave, brightening the entire cave dome. So, it creates an impressive and virtual scene.

Unique natural swimming pool 

The campsite has a cold water pool flowing from an underground cave, creating a lake with emerald-colored water with a temperature of about 17 to 25 degrees Celsius. Additionally, the water in the lake is warm in winter and cool in summer.

Meanwhile, the water in the nearby stream brings warm water from outside the valley into the cave due to its long flow under the sunlight.

Explore the 3rd largest natural cave in the world

Hang En has a length of nearly 1.6km, including three entrances: the river entrance, the high main entrance and the large exit. Furthermore, the width of the passage is roughly 200m, and the highest point of the cave ceiling is 140m.

Trekking in the primeval forest

Hang En Adventure Tour Detailed Itinerary

Note: The itinerary of the Hang En trekking tour 2 days and 1 night may change depending on weather conditions. Moreover, the paths can be quite muddy and slippery when it rains.

Day 1: Phong Nha – Doong Village – Hang En Cave

7:30 – 8:00 am on the morning of the departure day, the car will pick you up at your homestay or hotel in Phong Nha town and transfer you to the headquarters. Firstly, you will listen to the safety briefing and regulations from the tour guide. After that, sign the release form, pack your bag and receive the necessary safety equipment.

After departing from the headquarters, we start trekking down a sloping hill to reach a branch of the Rao Thuong Stream. From here, we will walk to the only village in the Phong Nha Ke-Bang National Park’s core zone.

After around 1 and a half hours of walking and wading through streams, we will reach Doong Village – the land of the Bru-Van Kieu minority ethnic community living deep in the jungle. Hence, we will stop for lunch at the village and learn about their life before continuing the trek to Hang En campsite.

Then, we continue trekking for about 3 hours through the jungle and crossing the river many times, we will reach Hang En cave entrance. Here, everyone will wear helmets, turn on the headlamps, and start climbing the rocky part to explore the cave. Standing on the the rocky slope’s top, we will see the panorama of the Hang En Cave campsite and the enchanted surrounding scenery.

After receiving your tent, you can enjoy swimming in the turquoise lake next to the campsite before enjoying delicious local dishes right in the cave. After dinner, everyone falls asleep to prepare for the last day.

Day 2: Hang En Cave – Phong Nha

Wake up for breakfast, and then we will climb up the rocks behind the camp in a cave to explore and learn more interesting facts about nature’s masterpiece in the cave. In particular, admiring the magnificent stalagmites and stalactites.

Moreover, at the back cave entrance, a new stunning view of the En cave campsite and a whole pristine world as beautiful as a fairyland opens up. Hence, you should have your camera ready to capture that wonderful scene and save some precious memories.

After wading through the underground streams, we will reach the large sandy floor of the giant cave exit. Next, we will return through the cave to the underground camp to enjoy lunch and take a short break.

Then, we will leave the cave for the last challenge of wading through many streams and climbing a sloping hill around 450m high. At the top of the hill is the road and our car with cold drinks is ready to welcome you back after all the challenges in your Hang En Cave adventure journey.
