What To Expect?

Swimming in the underground river inside the cave: The valleys are connected by unique underground caves. TU LAN CAVE ENCOUNTER TOUR DETAILED ITINERARY

Note: The Tu Lan cave encounter tour itinerary can be customized according to the weather conditions. Additionally, the trekking route may be quite muddy and slippery when it rains.

Day 1: Phong Nha – Tan Hoa – Ken Cave – Tu Lan Campsite

7:30 – 08:00 am: Our Phong Nha private car driver will pick you up at your hotel in Phong Nha and drive to the headquarters in Tan Hoa, 70km from Phong Nha. Here, the local guide will instruct you on the safety regulations and give you a short briefing about the trekking itinerary. After that, you sign the Release Form and receive the necessary safety equipment.

Then, we will start the journey with a 2.5km hike through corn and peanut fields to reach the Rao Nan River. After crossing the river, the trekking becomes more strenuous as you have to climb over a small hill of 50 m in height, which is rocky in sections. Moreover, we keep going down the other side, and we will reach Hung Ton valley.

After trekking through the flat valley, we will rest and enjoy a tasty lunch at the entrance of Hung Ton cave. When regaining your strength, the trek begins with more challenges, with some steep hills leading you to the Tu Lan campsite by the waterfall.

In the afternoon, we will swim and explore Ken Cave, located near the campsite. Then, we will return to the tent to enjoy a delicious dinner prepared for us by the chefs. Further, immersing yourself in the peaceful natural scenery of mountains and forests as well as the waterfalls sound, you will fall asleep quickly.

Day 2: Tu Lan Cave – Kim Cave – Hung Ton Cave – Tan Hoa

Wake up for a new day in Tu Lan valley with early clouds hovering around the tops of limestone mountains like beautiful ink paintings.

After breakfast, we will pack our bags to begin the journey to explore Tu Lan Cave and Kim Cave. Two typical caves in the Tu Lan area with a unique underground river system, impressive stalactites, and many beautiful waterfalls inside the cave.

You will have a light lunch at To Mo campsite before swimming through Hung Ton Cave. At the end of Hung Ton Cave, we moved up a 10m high ladder with a safety belt. Remarkably, the beautiful view from the cave entrance leading to a cool green forest. Hence, this is a great opportunity for you to take beautiful photos of the Tu Lan Cave Encounter tour.

After completing the exploration of the caves, we will return to the headquarters in Tan Hoa by trekking along the Hung Ton valley, crossing the Rao Nan River and green corn and peanut fields. After returning to the headquarters, you will be checked into the Rural Homestay room to shower and rest.

Around 6:00 pm: We will walk to a porter’s house to have dinner and interact with the locals. You will not only have the opportunity to enjoy some delicious local dishes but also learn more about the lives of the people here. After dinner, you will come back to the homestay to rest.

Day 3: Day 3: Explore Tan Hoa Village & ATV Tour – Phong Nha

After waking up from your homestay, you can cycle around Tan Hoa village to explore the beauty of Tan Hoa village. Moreover, you can enjoy the sunrise in the rice fields or vast green corn fields. Besides, you can also enjoy breakfast at the Tu Lan Lodge restaurant.

Furthermore, you can also join the ATV Squat bike off-road tour to explore Kong’s home and Lim forest within two hours. This is an extremely impressive and dramatic adventure sports driving activity with climbing up slopes, and wading streams. Plus, crossing beautiful Lim forests, especially running through the Kong tunnel.
