PARADISE CAVE AND PHONG NHA CAVE 1 DAY TOUR

Through millions of years of tectonics, Paradise Cave has many stalactites and stalagmites in various shapes, sizes, and colors. Therefore, it was dubbed the “Underground Palace” or the “Paradise on Earth”. Notably, Thien Duong Cave is 31.4 km in length and is the longest dry cave in Asia.

Phong Nha Cave is 7,729 m long and contains 14 grottos that connect each other with a 13,969 m-long underground river. Remarkably, the cave experts have surveyed 44.5 km of grottos in this cave so far. However, you can only penetrate to a length of 4.5 kilometers.

Phong Nha cave is also a World Natural Heritage Site with seven outstanding criteria that were voted by British Royal Association cave experts. Significantly, it has both wet caves and dry caves with a myriad of unique stalactites and stalagmites.

Furthermore, many stalactites and stalagmites in these two caves will be more sparkling and gorgeous as diamonds when light shines on them.

Detailed Itinerary

Paradise Cave Exploration

08:00 – 09:00 am: Our private car and tour guide will pick you up at your homestay/ hotel in Phong Nha town or Dong Hoi city. After you get in the car, we start the Paradise Cave and Phong Nha Cave 1 day tour.

Located in Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park’s core zone, the Paradise Cave is about 70 km from Dong Hoi city and 35 km from Phong Nha town. Hence, the transfer time from Phong Nha town is about 1 hour, and from Dong Hoi city is 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Along the way to Paradise Cave by car, you will see rustic landscapes with rice fields, water buffalos, and majestic limestone mountains. Especially, you will see the water source that forms the Mooc Spring.

Upon arrival at the parking lot area at the Paradise Cave ecotourism, we will take a buggy car to get to the Paradise Cave’s foot mountain. The distance is 2km along the forest, so you will feel relaxed with the cool and fresh atmosphere.

After leaving the buggy car, you can conquer a path of 519 steps or another path of 570 meters without steps to reach the cave entrance at a height of 300 meters. Therefore, you may feel tired because these paths are steep. Hence, visitors have cardiovascular disease or high blood pressure, and old people should not go to visit the cave.

However, all your efforts are worth it when you reach the cave. You will feel cool air radiating from the cave when standing at the cave entrance. Although the entrance is only about 1 meter wide, entering the cave will overwhelm you with its large space.

Significantly, the deeper you go into the cave, the cooler it gets because the temperature is only 18 – 20 degrees Celsius. Moreover, right from the cave entrance, you will see extremely beautiful giant stalactites.

Most importantly, you will explore about 1 km of Thien Duong cave because this is the section with the most beautiful stalactites and stalagmites. Thus, our tour guide will have interesting explanations about them with names like Lien Hoa Tower, Group of Fairies Converge, Rong House, etc.

12:30: After finishing the Paradise Cave tour, we will enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant in Phong Nha. Remarkably, this restaurant has a beautiful view because it is located right next to the Chay River with beautiful clear jade water.

Phong Nha Cave Exploration

1:30 pm: After lunch, we will transfer you to Phong Nha boat station to take a boat ride along the Son River to get to Phong Nha Cave. Sitting on a boat, you will see the rustic countryside of Vietnam with rice fields and water buffalos. Plus, the spectacular limestone mountains of Phong Nha – Ke Bang Nationa Park.

After about 25 minutes on the boat, we arrive at Phong Nha cave and take 2 hours to explore this natural masterpiece. You will admire countless massive, unique stalactites and stalagmites with names like lion, kneeling elephant, Buddha, etc.
