By booking our Hung Thoong exploration for 3 days and 2 nights, you can freely challenge yourself by trekking with constantly changing terrain. You must trek through the jungle, climbing over rocky mountains, swimming through underground river, and wriggling in dry caves. Plus, we will camp to immerse ourselves in nature and enjoy the feeling of soaking in the cool Hung Thoong River, Ma Da crystal lake, etc.

Exploring the Hung Thoong cave system, you will admire countless magnificent stalactites and stalagmites with many sizes, colors, and unique shapes. In addition, you will also see cave pearls that are quite round with beautiful colors. All will make your journey to explore Hung Thoong Cave more unforgettable than ever.

HUNG THOONG EXPLORATION DETAILED ITINERARY 

Day 1: Phong Nha – Road 20 Victory – Hung cave – Tron cave – Nuoc Lan Lake Campsite

8:00 am: Our Phong Nha private car driver and tour guide will pick you up at your homestay or hotel in Phong Nha town. We will transfer you to the headquarters to disseminate the itinerary and regulations of the Hung Thoong cave tour.

8:30 am: We depart for Hung Thoong Exploration by car along Road 20 Victory to the trekking starting spot.

9:00 am: Upon arrival, we start trekking through the dense jungle to reach the Hung Thoong Caves system.

11:00 am: We continue the journey by trekking to Hung Cave and Hung Thoong Spring.

12:00: It’s time for us to have a picnic lunch and rest at Hung Cave.

1:00 – 3:00 pm: We continue the Hung Thoong Cave Exploration by exploring the Hung Cave and trekking to Nuoc Lan Lake campsite.

3:30 pm: We will swim 1.2 km into Tron cave to explore it.

5:00: We prepare the campsite by Nuoc Lan Lake. 

6:00 – 9:00: After 1 day of exploration, we enjoy jungle dinner at the campsite and go to bed to have enough energy for the 2nd day of Hung Thoong exploration.

Day 2: Nuoc Lan Campsite – Hung Thoong Spring – Thung Cave

8:00 am: We will enjoy breakfast at the campsite to start the new day full of energy.

9:00 – 11:00 am: We trek along Hung Thoong to reach the Hung Thoong Spring after breakfast.

11:30 am: Upon arrival at the Hung Thoong Spring, we will relax by swimming and having lunch there.

1:00 – 3:00 pm: We will explore Thung Cave by abseiling from a height of 25m down to the underground river beneath Thung Cave.

3:00 – 4:30 pm: After finishing the Thung Cave exploration, we trek back to Nuoc Lan lake.

5:00 pm: We camp at Nuoc Lan lake.

5:00 – 6:00 pm: We swim at the lake in Nuoc Lan campsite after camping.

6:00 – 9:00 pm: Enjoy a delicious dinner with our local porter team and guide at the campsite.

Day 3: Nuoc Lan Lake – Ma Da Lake – Ho Chi Minh Road

8:00 am: Breakfast at Nuoc Lan campsite.

9:00 am: Trekking through the jungle to reach Ma Da Valley.

12:00: Arrive at Ma Da Lake for lunch and swim there.

1:30 pm: After all, we start trekking to Ho Chi Minh Road.

3:00 pm: Arrive at Ho Chi Minh Road, and we will transfer you back to our headquarters. We finish the Hung Thoong Exploration 3 days and 2 nights here. Phong Nha Cave Tours hopes you have the fabulous experience that our tour brought.

What should you bring?

• Two sets of long trousers and long-sleeved-shirt to avoid poison ivies and mosquitoes
• Two sets of changing clothes for the nights at the campsite
